Newsletter – March 2022

Hello,

As we are witnessing a ruthless attack by the Russians and their dictator Putin on a free, independent Ukraine, and thus the destruction of the post-war order and peace in Europe. We would like to express words of deep sympathy and support for the citizens of Ukraine. All of us at Take keep our fingers crossed for you, your army and your independence, and we pray that this madman will step down and end this senseless bloodshed. In these difficult times, be as strong as "Take" (竹 Japanese: bamboo), which can bend under the influence of strong winds, but no storm - no matter how strong - can finally break it!

For those starting their adventure with Katori:

As a new month begins, it's a great time to start your Katori Shinto Ryu practice. Registration for the beginner group lasts until March 16. Beginner group training takes place in:

  • Wednesdays, 20:15 – 21:45, ul. Akacjowa 5
  • Thursdays, 8:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., ul. Smolensk 7

Enough is enough register and come. Take sports clothes with you, and if you don't have your own bokken - Please let us know to take a spare one to a specific training session.

For people training:

In March, we will have two (unfortunately overlapping) interesting events:

Katori Shinto Ryu International Seminar in Berlin – March 5-6

After too long a break caused by the virus hated by everyone, we finally have the opportunity to see Sensei Ulf Rott (5'Dan) at a seminar organized in Berlin on March 5-6, 2022. This is a great opportunity to get to know and practice Katori with people from other countries and get many interesting tips from Sensei Ulfa. The seminar program includes: kenjutsu, iaijutsu, bojutsu and naginatajutsu.

The condition for participation is basic knowledge of kenjutsu, proof of vaccination in the form of a valid Covid certificate or confirmed illness within a period of less than 3 months from the date of the seminar, and a negative COVID-19 test performed 24 hours before the seminar or immediately on site.

Registration for the event is available at: http://seminar.katori-berlin.de
The cost of the event is: 40 Euro, +5 Euro for advanced training.

– Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto Ryu workshops in Lublin – March 5

It so happened that at the same time Sensei Jacek Krzeszowiec (4'Dan) was organizing one-day Katori workshops in Lublin. This is a phenomenal opportunity to start your adventure with our trips. Sensei Jacek will always provide many interesting and valuable comments and will certainly ensure a great, fun atmosphere at the workshops. Considering that these are less demanding one-day workshops, they will not take up as much time and resources as a full-fledged international seminar :). This is a great opportunity to get to know the rest of the Polish team and practice in the intimate atmosphere of the Lublin dojo. The workshops will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Lublin, at ul. Wajdeloty 12 and will cost PLN 70. Details from the organizer: 504 142 275, jkrzeszowiec@poczta.fm

Practice the art of peace.
