Train japanese fencing!

Welcome to the website of dōjō Tenshin Shōden Katori Shintō-ryū in Krakow, Poland. Katori Shintō-ryū is the oldest Japanese martial art that has survived to this day.

Our fencing school teaches you to wield Japanese swords - katana (kenjutsu), two swords (ryōtōjutsu), staff (bōjutsu), glaive (naginatajutsu), short sword (kodachijutsu), yari spear (sōjutsu) and hand-to-hand combat (jūjutsu). Katori has almost 600 years of tradition passed down from generation to generation. As tradition continuators, we are part of Master Sugino's Dōjō in Kawasaki and Polish Katori Organization.

We organize regular trainings, weekend workshops, international seminars and demonstrations of martial arts.

We invite everyone interested to our trainings in Cracow and to workshops organized in Poland and in Europe. We also organize Japanese fencing demonstrations.

Why is it worth it?

Trainings are for people from the age of 15, both for men and women

I came to training hoping to learn a few sword tricks, I left feeling like a feudal samurai:) Sensei and his team will teach you to wield the katana, staff and naginata with such dexterity that your friends will start wondering if you have Japanese ancestors. Note: after a few months of training, you will begin to involuntarily evaluate the fighting techniques in the movies and bow at the entrance to the store;)

TAKE Japanese Fencing School is a place that I can recommend with a clear conscience to anyone who wants to explore the secrets of traditional Japanese fencing. It's not just a training place, but a real community with an atmosphere of mutual respect and support. The instructors are true enthusiasts and professionals. The atmosphere in the dojo is extremely friendly and motivating. Students support each other, creating a close-knit and welcoming community. As someone who has been training at the TAKE dojo for over 7 years, I can definitely say that if you are looking for a place where you can learn traditional Japanese fencing, develop your skills and meet great people, TAKE Japanese Fencing School is the perfect choice.

TAKE School offers a wide range of historical Japanese fencing training for everyone, regardless of age or gender. They help you lead a balanced and healthy lifestyle, and allow you to educate your body and mind. The presidents are extremely helpful, and each has his or her own unique way of teaching, allowing you to focus on different aspects of Katori. In addition, attending the trainings teaches you to develop your own concentration, as well as eye-hand coordination. All in all, attending TAKE School is a truly engaging, versatile and extremely interesting form of physical activity, shared by a really close-knit and welcoming community, always ready to help or train together. I personally sincerely recommend it to anyone who would like to delve deeper into the world of Japanese martial arts or is simply looking for an interesting hobby that is not limited to basic physical exercise.

I first got into training 10 years ago as part of a New Year's resolution. The professional staff, super atmosphere, and curriculum have kept me practicing regularly to this day. I would definitely recommend to anyone interested in Japan or Japanese fencing
