We invite all new enthusiasts who want to start their adventure with Katori Shinto-ryu to our dedicated introductory workshop!
Our introductory workshop is 3.5 hours dedicated to explaining the basic aspects of training and kata, giving you a much better start to your practice. This is an opportunity to gain basic information and skills that will be invaluable during regular training.
Our priority is to provide you with solid foundations that will help you master the material necessary to practice the first form of kata in pairs.
A Dojo TAKE Vademecum is provided for each workshop participant. That is, a booklet containing the most important information including: dojo etiquette, fighting positions, glossary of terms, curriculum, examination requirements and style history.
We would also like to inform you that the next such workshop will be held in September.

Program
- introduction to the Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto-ryu school
- a brief history of the school and founder
- presentation of the material and weapons used during training
- basic cuts and thrusts
- basic poses (kamae)
- dojo etiquette and sword handling
- the first kata (pair form) of the sword

Registration
Prior registration is required to participate in the workshops. If after the workshop you want to participate in regular training, additional registration will not be necessary. The number of places is limited due to the number of spare bokkens available. The order of registration is decisive. Late registration may require purchasing a bokken before the workshop begins.
Must be 15 years of age.

What to bring to the workshop?
- sports outfit, i.e. long sweatpants, t-shirt
- a bottle of water
- we practice barefoot but flip flops can be useful to go from the locker room to the hall
- if you have your kimono and bokken you can bring them
- good mood :)
Costs
The cost of participation is PLN 150.
