Newsletter – April 2022

For those starting their adventure with Katori:

A new month begins. It would seem that spring has come, so you can return to outdoor activities, and suddenly there is snow, splashes and cold. What could be better than hiding in the hall from such gloomy weather and swinging your bokken, practicing one of the oldest and best-preserved ancient Japanese fencing styles? 🙂 Registration for the beginner group lasts until April 15. Beginner group training takes place in:

  • Wednesdays, 20:15 – 21:45, ul. Akacjowa 5
  • Thursdays, 8:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., ul. Smolensk 7

Enough is enough register and come. Take sports clothes with you, and if you don't have your own bokken - Please let us knowso that we can take a spare one to a specific training session.

For people training:

We are pleased to announce that people who would like to see and practice Katori with Sensei Ulf (6th Dan TSKSR) will probably have the opportunity to do so in April, on site in Krakow. We expect that Sensei Ulf will visit us for training between April 5 and 15 as part of his tour around Europe. Although the visits are not yet 100% confirmed, such opportunities do not happen every day. So remember to book your dates and join the training on the mentioned days. It would be a shame to miss such an event, so we warmly invite you :)

- Internal examinations for grades 5 and 4 Kyu – April 27

A great opportunity is approaching to raise your Katori to a higher level :). On Wednesday, April 27, the 5th and 4th Kyu exams will be held. They will take place in the hall of the Piarist Secondary School at 5 Akacjowa Street. The exam will take place at the end of the regular training of the beginner group, which will take place between 8:15 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. People interested in obtaining the next degree are asked to contact Sensei Mateusz in advance to verify consent to take the exam. The requirements for individual degrees are available on our website at: this address

Many of the goods that were recently unavailable are now in our offer again. Especially fresh and fragrant keikogi. We also have new cases for long weapons, with an adjustable shoulder strap and a few other gadgets. We invite you! Grab it while it's hot 🙂
