For beginners with Katori

Holidays are the perfect time to visit the beaches…. our dojo! Join us in August to discover that a solid Katori Shinto Ryu training beats sunbathing and grilling and at the same time develops the body and spirit 🙂 We would like to remind you that we will be conducting introductory workshops for new people. If you want to join during the summer, leave your e-mail and we will send you information about the introductory workshop. We accept people from 15 years of age. Trainings take place in a changed holiday schedule:

  • Tuesdays, 20:15 - 21:45, ul. Acacia 5
  • Thursdays, 18:30 - 20:00, ul. Acacia 5

Summer introductory workshops - 05.08.2023

We invite all new people who want to start their adventure with Katori Shinto-ryu to our introductory workshops. If you have recently started training and would like to improve your skills, these workshops are also for you. Our introductory workshop is 3 hours devoted to explaining the basic aspects of training and kata, which will give you a much better start to practice. This is an opportunity to gain basic information and skills that will be invaluable during regular training. Our priority is to provide you with solid foundations, thanks to which you will master the material necessary to practice the first form of kata in pairs. We would also like to inform you that this is the last workshop of this type during the holidays. He will lead the workshop Sensei Mateusz Kuduk (3'Dan) along with an assistant Sensei Arkadiusz Telma (2'Dan). Workshops will be held at 5 Akacjowa Street. Prior registration is required to participate in the workshops this link. The cost of the introductory workshop is PLN 100

Schedule:

08:45 – Registration on site
09:00 - Start
12:00 - Finish

Program:

  • introduction to the Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto-ryu school
  • a brief history of the school and founder
  • presentation of the material and weapons used during training
  • basic cuts and thrusts
  • basic poses (kamae)
  • dojo etiquette and sword handling
  • the first kata (pair form) of the sword
What to bring to the workshop?
  • sports outfit, i.e. long sweatpants, t-shirt
  • a bottle of water
  • we practice barefoot but flip flops can be useful to go from the locker room to the hall
  • if you have your kimono and bokken you can bring them
  • good mood

Katori Shinto Ryu seminar with Sensei Sugino in Leer 08 - 08/13/2023

As we informed last time, on August 8-13, 2023, the seminar of Sensei Sugino Yukihiro (9th Dan) in Leer will take place. Dojo Take will be represented by a five-person team led by Sensei Mateusz Kuduk

Katori Shinto Ryu seminar with Sensei Loris Petris and Ulf Rott in Berlin 21 – 22.10.2023

Katori Shinto Ryu seminar with Sensei Mateusz Kuduk in Krakow 22 – 23.07.2023

During the July seminar Katori with sensei Mateusz Kuduk, exams were held. We would like to warmly congratulate all those who took the exam and passed it, obtaining the next level of W Katori. In particular, we would like to congratulate you Arkadiusz Telmawho has attained a degree 2 Dan which doesn't happen often and is a great achievement. Congratulations 🙂
