For beginners with Katori
This year we are continuing our introductory workshops for beginners. If you would like to join us, please leave your email and we will send you information about the next introductory workshop. We are accepting people from the age of 15. The next introductory workshop will be held on - 08.02.2024.Below is the schedule for the School Year 2024/2025 :
- Mondays, 8:00 - 9:30 p.m., Powstania Warszawskiego Avenue 6 - Beginner group training
- Tuesdays, 20:15 – 21:45, ul. Akacjowa 5 – Beginner group training
- Wednesdays, 7:00 - 8:25 p.m., 5 Akacjowa St. - Intermediate group training
- Wednesdays, 8:35 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., 5 Akacjowa St. - Advanced group training
- Thursdays, 18:30 – 20:00, ul. Smolensk 7 – Beginner group training
- Fridays, 7:15 - 8:45 p.m., 7 Smolensk St. - Beginner group training (from 14.02)
Introductory workshop - 08.02.2024
We welcome all new enthusiasts who want to start their adventure with the Katori Shinto-ryu, on a dedicated introductory workshop!
The introductory workshop is 3.5 hours dedicated to explaining the basic aspects of training and kata, giving you a much better start to your practice. This is an opportunity to gain basic information and skills that will be invaluable during regular training.
Our priority is to provide you with a solid foundation to master the material necessary to practice the first form of kata in pairs.
Each participant in the workshop will receive Vademecum Dojo TAKE - A booklet containing the most important information, including dojo etiquette, fighting positions, a glossary of terms, curriculum, exam requirements and style history.
The next such workshop will be held in 2-3 months. If these dates do not suit you, you can sign up for 3 hours individual trainings, which will allow you to master the basics and join the beginner group.

✅ Introduction to school Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto-ryu
✅ A brief history of the school and the founder
presentation of the material and weapons used during training
✅ Basic cuts and pushes
✅ Basic items (kamae)
✅ Dojo etiquette and sword handling
✅ First kata (paired form) of the sword

Seminar will be lead by the Sensei Mateusz Kuduk (3'Dan) As well as the school's instructors. You can read more about our instructors at this page.
Registration
The following are required to participate in the workshop advance registration. If you decide to train regularly after the workshop, additional registration will not be necessary.
Seating is limited due to the availability of spare bokken. The order of applications is decisive. Late registrations may need to purchase bokken before the start of the workshop - information will be included in the form.

🎽 Sports attire: long sweatpants, t-shirt

🥋 We practice barefoot, but flip-flops can come in handy for the transition from the locker room to the hall

🔹 We recommend starting regular training during the month from the completion of the workshop to consolidate the skills learned. If you have not been able to start training at this time and more than a month has passed since the workshop, you can repeat the introductory workshop at no additional cost.
🔹 Before and after the workshop there will be an opportunity to purchase of bokken and cover - The first things you will need for regular training. You can also place your order in advance at our store and pick them up in front of the workshop.
🔹 The following will be provided for the workshop participants. February pass discount of 30%! The discount does not add up to other discounts. See price list our trainings.

We are pleased to announce that from mid-February (14.02) we start a new training! This is the training of the Beginner group and will be held on Fridays at 7 Smolensk St. from 7:15 - 8:45 p.m. You are welcome!
