For beginners with Katori

July training is an opportunity to raise your katori to a higher level. In the heat of the summer, Katorians are so skilled in sword techniques that the heat outside is nothing compared to the fire that burns in their hearts! We would like to remind you that we will be conducting introductory workshops for new people. If you want to join during the summer holidays, leave your e-mail address and we will send you information about the introductory workshop. We accept people from the age of 15. Trainings take place in a changed summer schedule:

  • Tuesdays, 20:15 - 21:45, ul. Acacia 5
  • Thursdays, 18:30 - 20:00, ul. Acacia 5

For people who train

Summer introductory workshops – July 8, 2023

We invite all new people who want to start their adventure with Katori Shinto-ryu to our introductory workshops. If you have recently started training and would like to improve your skills, these workshops are also for you. You will obtain basic information and acquire skills useful during regular training. Our goal is for you to learn the material necessary to practice the first form of kata in pairs during these workshops. The workshops will be led by Sensei Mateusz Kuduk (3'Dan) along with an assistant Sensei Arkadiusz Telma (1'Dan).
. Workshops will be held at 5 Akacjowa Street. Prior registration is required to participate in the workshops this link. The cost of the introductory workshop is PLN 100

Schedule:

08:45 – Registration on site
09:00 - Start
12:00 - Finish

Program:

  • introduction to the Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto-ryu school
  • a brief history of the school and founder
  • presentation of the material and weapons used during training
  • basic cuts and thrusts
  • basic poses (kamae)
  • dojo etiquette and sword handling
  • the first kata (pair form) of the sword
What to bring to the workshop?
  • sports outfit, i.e. long sweatpants, t-shirt
  • a bottle of water
  • we practice barefoot but flip flops can be useful to go from the locker room to the hall
  • if you have your kimono and bokken you can bring them
  • good mood

that you will need for regular training). You can also fold

Katori Shinto Ryu seminar with Sensei Mateusz Kuduk in Krakow 22 – 23.07.2023

The Krakow Katori Shinto Ryu Z Sensei seminar will be held on July 22-23 Matthew Kuduk (3rd Dan). The seminar will take place at 5 Akacjowa Street and is intended for all levels of advancement in Katori.

Katori Shinto Ryu seminar with Sensei Sugino in Leer 08 - 08/13/2023

We invite you to attend a seminar in Leer (Germany), conducted by Sugino Yukihiro (9th Dan). The seminar will be held on 8-August 13 and is available for every level of advancement. Accommodation is available in the gymnasium at Sensei Ulf's dojo on the street Grosser Oldekamp 17 Just for students and unemployed people.
