For beginners with Katori
As it is customary for May to be the month in which the notorious Matriculations take place in schools, the schedule for this month has undergone some solid changes. This year we are continuing the introductory workshops for beginners. If you'd like to join us, leave your email and we'll send you information about the next introductory workshop. We are accepting people from the age of 15. Below is the schedule for Ma (exactly until May 22) :
- Mondays, 8:15 - 9:45 p.m., 19 Lubomirskiego St. - Beginner group training (no change)
- Tuesdays, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m., 8 Na Skarpie St. - Beginner group training
- Wednesdays, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m., Elementary School No. 80, housing estate na skarpie 8 - Beginner group training (no change)
- Wednesdays, 8:00 - 9:30 p.m., 7 Smolensk St. - Intermediate & advanced group training
- Thursdays, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m., 7 Smolensk St. - Beginner group training (no change)
Introductory workshop - 22.06.2024
We welcome all new enthusiasts looking to get started in Katori Shinto-ryu to our dedicated introductory workshop! Our introductory workshop is 3.5 hours dedicated to explaining the basic aspects of training and kata, giving you a much better start to your practice. This is an opportunity to gain basic information and skills that will be invaluable during your regular training. Our priority is to provide you with a solid foundation to master the material necessary to practice your first form of kata in pairs. We would also like to inform you that the next workshop of this type will be held in September at the earliest.
The workshop will be held at 5 Acacia Street See directions how to get there. Seminar will be lead by the Sensei Matthew Kuduk (3'Dan). You can read more about our instructors at this page.
Pre-registration is required to participate in the workshop. If you wish to participate in regular training after the workshop, additional registration will not be necessary. Seating is limited due to the number of spare bokken available. The order of registration is decisive. Late registration may require you to purchase a bokken before the workshop begins - information will be included in the form. A minimum age of 15 is required. What to bring to the workshop:
- sports outfit, i.e. long sweatpants, t-shirt
- a bottle of water
- we practice barefoot but flip flops can be useful to go from the locker room to the hall
- if you have your kimono and bokken A wooden training sword, usually in the shape of a katana, less often a wakizashi or tantō. you can bring them
- good mood :)

Program:
- introduction to the Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto-ryu school
- a brief history of the school and founder
- presentation of the material and weapons used during training
- basic cuts and thrusts
- basic poses (kamae)
- dojo etiquette and sword handling
- the first kata (pair form) of the sword
The cost of participation is PLN 150.

International Katori Shinto Ryu seminar in Milan - 09 - 12.05.2024
We invite you to participate in the international Katori Shinto Ryu seminar in Milan, led by Sensei Sugino Yukihiro (9th Dan). The seminar will be held in two locations in Milan. On May 9-10 it will be at the Rasen Budo Zen dojo at Via Salvatore Pianell, 21, 20125, while on May 11-12: Gonzaga Sports Club at Via Luigi Settembrini, 17/A, 20124. The seminar is divided according to degree. May 9 is reserved for kodansha (3rd Dan up), May 10 is reserved for yudansha (1st Dan up) While May 11-12 are general public trainings.
